Independence Day

Today, 15th August is our Independence Day. Independent India is celebrating 60th birthday. The day holds a very special place in our lives. Anddddd we all feel very nostalgic about it especially if we are outside India. No jokes, it’s true !!

To me unfurling of national flag and singing of national anthem always evoke a powerful sense of belonging. I can not say how many of us are really patriotic but am dead sure about this little girl and I think she is going to remain the way she is.

Don’t miss it, celebrate the Independence Day through her eyes.

Jana Gana Mana Adhinayaka Jaya Hey
Bharat Bhagya Vidhata
Punjab Sindh Gujarat Maratha
Dravida Utkala Banga
Vindhya Himachal Yamuna Ganga

Ucchala Jaladhi Taranga
Tabh Shubha Naame Jaage
Tabh Shubha Aashish Maange
Gaahe Tabh Jaya Gatha

Jan Gan Mangaldayak Jay Hey
Bharat Bhagya Vidhata
Jaye Hey ! Jaye Hey ! Jaye Hey !
Jaye,Jaye,Jaye,Jaye Hey

Note:- You can comment either there or here or at both places. Hee hee..

Jai Hind !!

Current song- Kar Chale Hum Fida Jaan-o-tan Sathiyo – Md Rafi

Instead of listening to a song this time watch this video, from one of my all time favourite movies of black & white era. I still remember how I had shrieked with that boy when I watched this song and I don’t think I’ll behave any differently today even after watching it innumerable no. of times.

I had to look up Jai Hind. Here's what Wikipedia said:
"Jai Hind is a salutation most commonly used in India in speeches and communications pertaining to or referring to patriotism towards India (also known as Hind). The Indian freedom fighter Dr.Champakaraman Pillai, introduced the salutation. It has since captured the imagination of Indians and has been immortalised by Subhash Chandra Bose as the battlecry of the Indian National Army.

Famous Freedom Fighter Sri Ramchandra Moreshwar Karkare of Gwalher Madhya Bharat, from inspiration of Netaji S.C.Bose, had written and published a Drama-(Natak)in Hindi, a very popular book, Jai Hind.

Currently army and paramilitary soldiers in India use this salutation to address the officers of superior rank."
Happy belated Jai Hind!

Catmoves,

You are going to remain ever amazing to me. Always coming up with something interesting and wanting to know more. No one took so much pain to find out what does 'Jai Hind' mean. Yeah, loosely translated it means Victorious India.

Greetings Cuckoo,

On the advice of a good friend I've just joined the world of blogging,

Though late, I trust you celebrated your independence day in style.

Don't press Shrinkwrappedscream, for to much detail of our little childhood fling. Only because she may just tell the truth.((Ouch))))

Best wishers

Keith.

Easy Breathing,
Welcome abroad, Keith !! Nice to have you here.

Oh I am so sorry about that. That was never my intention. Rest assured, it won't happen again.

Thanks for dropping by. Come again.
